Islamabad: Former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari appeared before an accountability court in Rawalpindi after he was summoned by the court in a case regarding his assets.
Asif Zardari, Co-Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), was accompanied with his legal team.
On his plea, the judge granted Zardari exemption from appearing before the court and he would be represented by his lawyer Farooq H. Naek in upcoming hearings of the case.
Statements of the witnesses will be recorded in the next hearing.
Earlier, Zardari failed to appear before the accountability court twice citing reasons of poor health and inadequate security.
