WhatsApp is preparing a redesign of its Liquid Glass in-chat interface, with changes planned for the message input bar and the top navigation area, WABetaInfo reported.
The update will replace the fixed chat bar with a floating design using a translucent frosted-glass effect, according to the report.
The new chat bar is expected to dynamically reflect the background, giving the interface a layered appearance.
WABetaInfo said the top navigation bar inside chats will also receive a transparent look with soft fading effects. The redesign will allow chat wallpapers and conversation content to be subtly displayed in the navigation area.
Interactive elements, including the “jump to latest message” button, are also expected to adopt the glass-like styling. The interface has not yet been released to beta testers, though it has reportedly been activated internally for testing.
The redesign is part of a broader visual shift influenced by Apple’s Liquid Glass design language in newer iOS versions.

Early signs of the WhatsApp redesign reportedly appeared in late 2025 beta builds through smaller interface changes. Meta Platforms has not confirmed a public release timeline for the full rollout.
