WhatsApp is enhancing its Android app with a promising new feature that allows users to access ‘View Once’ media on linked devices.

The latest WhatsApp beta for Android, version 2.25.3.7, includes the update. It is available only to beta testers, which marks a major improvement over the earlier restriction, which allowed view-once media to be accessed solely on the primary device.

According to the reliable source WABetaInfo, this feature is set to revolutionize how users interact with transient media files across multiple devices. Initially introduced in August 2021, the View Once feature lets users send photos and videos that disappear after a single view. With the new update, however, users might soon be able to open these media files on secondary devices like smartphones and desktops, enhancing flexibility and convenience for those using WhatsApp on multiple devices.

Ongoing WhatsApp Developments and Future Enhancements

The ability to view ‘View Once’ media on linked devices is still under development and available only to those with the Google Play Beta program. This update aims to improve user experience by providing greater accessibility and seamless media sharing across various platforms.

Furthermore, alongside this innovative feature, WhatsApp is reportedly working on additional functionalities, including the ability to create and share events within individual chats on Android devices.

This continuous evolution of features underscores WhatsApp’s commitment to enhancing user engagement and security, ensuring that the platform meets the dynamic needs of its global user base. As these features move from beta to broader release, they promise to offer users enhanced control and flexibility over how they share and view media across multiple devices.
