CARACAS, Venezuela: Footage from a Venezuelan dog rescue showed an El Salvador team pulling a dog named Giselle from the rubble five days after twin earthquakes devastated La Guaira state.
The rescue took place at Residencial El Palmar in Caraballeda after crews heard barking from a dark crevice.
El Salvador President Nayib Bukele said rescuers worked for 5 hours to free the dog and asked her owner to contact the teams with proof.
The video showed the dog licking a rescuer’s face after being pulled out and later being fed through a syringe.

The rescue followed two earthquakes of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 that struck Venezuela on June 24, with La Guaira among the worst-hit areas, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said.
The New York Post reported the confirmed death toll had reached at least 1,943, with more than 10,000 injured and nearly 50,000 people missing.
