Fire Point co-owner Denys Shtilerman claimed Ukraine could develop nuclear weapons if the country’s leaders made a political decision, according to an interview with journalist Alesia Batsman.
Shtilerman made the claim in an interview published on Batsman’s YouTube channel. He said Ukraine had the technical capacity, but he did not cite a government decision or official nuclear program.
He linked the issue to Ukraine’s decision to give up its Soviet-era nuclear arsenal. He said Kyiv surrendered those weapons in exchange for security guarantees that, in his view, did not hold.
Shtilerman also claimed Fire Point could begin FP-9 ballistic missile test flights toward Moscow in the summer or early autumn. He said the missile had all key components except its engine.
The Fire Point co-owner said the company planned to test the engine this month. He said flight tests would follow if the system worked as planned.
Shtilerman claimed Ukraine could use a small batch of missiles to strike symbolic targets in Moscow and then seek talks with Russia.

Ukraine’s government has not announced a decision to develop nuclear weapons. The missile timeline and target claims remain statements by Shtilerman and Fire Point, not confirmed state policy.
