At the Paris Olympics closing ceremony, Tom Cruise transformed the event into a scene reminiscent of a Hollywood blockbuster.
Cruise leapt from the Stade de France’s roof in a daring stunt, marking a thrilling transition to the L.A. 2028 Olympics.
Cruise, currently in Europe filming the latest “Mission: Impossible” instalment, executed a dive from France’s largest stadium, landing precisely on the Olympic stage, to the crowd’s wild acclaim. There, L.A. Mayor Karen Bass and Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo awaited him. Following this, Cruise wasn’t finished. He swiftly mounted a motorcycle with an Olympic flag in tow and sped through Paris’ streets to a helicopter. From there, he parachuted to the Hollywood sign, where he affixed the Olympic rings.
This spectacle wasn’t Cruise’s first Olympic appearance. He had been visible throughout the Paris Games, even receiving the Knight of the Legion of Honor shortly before the Olympics began. His presence at the closing ceremony capped off a series of high-profile appearances.
The closing ceremony also set the stage for the upcoming L.A. Games in 2028, with performances by Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In Paris, Mayor Bass assured that the L.A. Games would mirror the city’s diverse and international essence, hinting at more “magical opportunities.”
Paris provided a historic backdrop for the Olympics, utilizing venues from the Place de la Concorde to the Chateau de Versailles. With such a memorable setup by Paris, the L.A. Games are poised to deliver an equally impressive experience.
