Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) Friday admitted two identical petitions seeking to annulment of the  General Elections 2013.

According to sources, two different petitions were submitted before the SCP by Justice (r) Mehmood Akhtar Shahid Siddiqui and former federal minister Zahid Sarfaraz. Petitioners had requested to declare the General Election 2013 as invalid.

In his petition, Justice (r) Mehmood Akhtar Shahid Siddiqui had plead that the General Elections 2013 were held on the bases of magnetic ink and it has already been proven that the magnetic ink was substandard.

The petitioner has also pleaded that the magnetic ink was ineffective, due to which the rigging was made possible in the 2013 election. He has also requested action against Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the administration and preplanned rigging in was carried out in 2013 elections and some political parties benefited from this organized rigging and therefore, the elction should be declared invalid.
