BERLIN: President Asif Ali Zardari urged Siemens to expand Pakistan’s healthcare technology cooperation during talks in Berlin, as both sides discussed research-led solutions for cancer, stroke and other services.
Siemens Executive Vice President Daniel Frisch and Veronika Pfister, head of government affairs, met the president during his visit to Germany.
Zardari called for research-based, technology-driven solutions to improve healthcare delivery across Pakistan. He said affordable, standardised services should reach citizens more widely, especially poorer communities in remote areas.
Frisch expressed readiness to strengthen the company’s existing support through new technological applications and healthcare infrastructure. He also cited what he described as positive results from the Sindh Health Department’s networked initiatives.
Zardari encouraged Siemens to consider investment beyond healthcare in other social and industrial sectors. He offered institutional support for deeper cooperation through the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
