LIVERPOOL: Musicians Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have backed plans for a new Beatles attraction. The Beatles Story will move from Albert Dock to the former St John’s Market site in 2028.
Apple Corps Ltd, which manages the band’s creative and business interests, announced the redevelopment. At 100,000 square feet, the proposed venue would offer more than four times the attraction’s current space.
Meanwhile, neighbouring St John’s Beacon will house a “Yellow Submarine” viewing experience. The tower previously housed Radio City.
Apple Corps plans to combine immersive technology with original artefacts and recreated settings from the band’s history. Visitors will follow its journey from post-war Liverpool through Hamburg and Beatlemania to international fame.

Recreations will include The Cavern, Abbey Road and Shea Stadium. McCartney welcomed the opportunity for fans to experience the band’s story in its home city.
Starr also praised the development’s support for emerging local talent. “Liverpool was, and still is, Music City,” Starr said.
Every ticket sold for The Beatles Story will contribute to the Apple Corps Liverpool Trust, which will support emerging Liverpool artists.

Liverpool City Council and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority are working with Apple Corps on the project, with support from central government.
The attraction has operated at Albert Dock since 1990. Apple Corps will take over its current operation in 2027, ahead of the relocation.
