Kuwait : Adviser on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz met with Saudi Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahemd Al Jubeir on the sidelines of the 42nd OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Kuwait.
Regional situation and the crisis in Yemen were also discussed. The Adviser reiterated Pakistan’s unequivocal support and strong commitment to the security and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia and protection of the two holy Mosques. He briefed Jubeir on Pakistan s efforts to engage the regional countries to resolve the Yemen crisis in a peaceful manner.
The Adviser extended warm congratulations to Jubeir on his appointment as the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia and conveyed his deep condolences over the loss of several precious lives in the terrorist attack in Eastern province of Saudi Arabia. Foreign Minister Jubeir began with remarks that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan enjoyed close brotherly and strategic relations.
These relations were based on strong foundations and were destined to grow from strength to strength. He referred to the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries and underlined the need for further enhancing trade and investment between the two countries.
Foreign Minister Jubeir expressed deep appreciation for the valuable contribution of the more than two million Pakistanis to the development of Saudi Arabia. The Adviser briefed the foreign minister on the successful outcome of Zarb-e-Azab and the economic turnaround achieved by Pakistan.
Referring to the improving investment climate in Pakistan, he mentioned that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor Programme involving total investment of 46 billion dollars over the next five to seven years. Expressing his personal affection for Pakistan, Foreign Minister Jubeir said that he was looking forward to visiting Pakistan in the near future.
