Rawalakot, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, officials said a Rawalakot firing video shows armed men linked to the banned Joint Awami Action Committee firing at security personnel during recent unrest.
The footage surfaced on social media and shows armed individuals carrying submachine guns, according to officials. They said the men opened fire on law enforcement personnel in Rawalakot.
Officials alleged that JAAC-linked militants had also attacked the Combined Military Hospital Rawalakot, a police armoured vehicle and an assistant sub-inspector during earlier violence.

A spokesperson for the Inspector General of Police, AJK, said armed miscreants belonging to the banned JAAC fired on law enforcement personnel during clashes on June 8, 2026. Officials said the violence caused multiple deaths and injuries.
Security analysts said armed activity, arson and attacks on law enforcement showed the group’s agenda went beyond public rights activism. They called for action to protect lives, property and public order.

The AJK government has announced a Rs10 million reward for information leading to the arrest of four wanted JAAC leaders. Officials said the identities of informants will remain confidential.
The notification named Shaukat Nawaz Mir, Umar Nazir Kashmiri, Mehran Arshad Khawaja and Sardar Aman as wanted suspects. The AJK Home Department directed the Inspector General of Police to implement the reward scheme and coordinate arrests.
