Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has responded after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees issued a non-cooperation notice linked to his “Don 3” dispute.
A statement released on Singh’s behalf said the actor has deep respect for the film industry and everyone connected to the “Don” franchise. It said he had stayed silent because personal and professional disputes should be handled with respect, decency and maturity.
Indian media reports said FWICE urged producers and industry bodies not to work with Singh after filmmaker Farhan Akhtar filed a complaint against him. The federation claimed Singh had received several notices but declined to discuss the contractual dispute in that forum.
FWICE said it moved ahead with the non-cooperation directive due to Singh’s conduct and interactions with project stakeholders. The body also urged producers’ groups and industry organisations to support action against what it described as unprofessional practices.
Singh was announced in 2023 as the new lead of “Don 3,” replacing Shah Rukh Khan, who starred in “Don” in 2006 and “Don 2” in 2011.

The dispute followed Singh’s reported exit from “Don 3” in December 2025 after the success of “Dhurandhar.” Akhtar first approached the Producers Guild of India, which advised both sides to resolve the matter amicably before taking the complaint to FWICE.
