Berkshire Hathaway’s Berkshire SpaceX stake was worth about USD 815 million on June 30 through its investment in Alphabet, according to Business Insider calculations.
Berkshire reported owning about 0.9% of Alphabet, valued near USD 38 billion, in its second-quarter portfolio update.
Alphabet separately reported that it owned about 4% of SpaceX on June 30. That holding was valued at roughly USD 94 billion, according to the filing cited by Business Insider.
Applying Berkshire’s proportional Alphabet ownership gives it an indirect interest of about 0.04% in SpaceX.
Business Insider estimated the look-through value had fallen to around USD 700 million by Tuesday’s market close, following declines in the underlying valuations.
The exposure remains small compared with Berkshire’s approximately USD 1.3 trillion in total assets at the end of June. The company also held about USD 324 billion in stocks.
