LAHORE, Punjab: Revised Punjab school timings for public and private schools will take effect from August 24 and remain in force until October 15, 2026, the School Education Department said.
Under the notification, single-shift schools will operate from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 am to 12:45 pm on Friday.
Morning shifts at double-shift schools will run from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm Monday through Thursday, with Friday classes ending at noon.
Evening shifts will operate from 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday. On Friday, the second shift will run from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
Girls’ schools will generally open and close 15 minutes earlier than boys’ schools. Chief Executive Officers of District Education Authorities may adjust that difference according to local circumstances.
Schools will continue to operate five days a week, Monday to Friday, while Saturday will remain a holiday in government schools.

The School Education Department directed district education authorities across Punjab to implement the revised schedule, which coincides with students’ and teachers’ return on August 24.
