Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah presided over a rain emergency meeting on Wednesday, after monsoon rains in Karachi triggered power outages and other problems.
The meeting was also attended by Local Bodies Minister, Commissioner Karachi, Administrator KMC and PDMA authorities. According to the spokesperson for the Chief Minister, DG PDMA and Administrator KMC gave a briefings to the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure cleaning of drains and take steps to improve the drainage system of the city on an emergency basis.
The CM directed Commissioner Karachi to oversee the cleaning of the drainage system of the city. Qaim Ali Shah also disclosed that for cleaning the drains, the government had issued fund amounting to Rs 44.5 crore.
