Pakistan said Turkiye and Qatar could join the Saudi-Pakistan defence pact as US-Iran tensions reshape regional security, Bloomberg reported.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said Islamabad is finalising a broader framework for collective security.
Asif said Qatar and Turkiye joining the existing agreement would be a welcome development, according to Bloomberg.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed the strategic defence agreement in September 2025.
The pact states that aggression against either country will count as aggression against both.
The talks come as the US-Iran conflict raises concerns over energy security, maritime routes and Gulf stability.
Pakistan has also facilitated contacts between Washington and Tehran while calling for dialogue and de-escalation.
Pakistan deployed a military contingent to King Abdulaziz Air Base in Saudi Arabia last month.
