GILGIT, Gilgit-Baltistan: The Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court ordered authorities to implement its December 15, 2025, verdict in the KCBL CEO case.
The court issued the direction during the hearing of Implementation Petition No. 217/2026. It ordered respondents to submit a compliance report by May 18, 2026.
The case involves Syed Ghulam Muhammad, former Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Karakorum Cooperative Bank Limited.
A Division Bench ruled in October 2024 that his removal from office lacked legal authority. The bench ordered his reinstatement.
Authorities later filed a Civil Petition for Leave to Appeal before the Supreme Appellate Court of Gilgit-Baltistan and obtained a stay order.
KCBL dismissed Muhammad again on March 10, 2025. He challenged that order, and the Chief Court suspended it on June 2, 2025.
In its December 15 judgment, the Chief Court declared the dismissal null and void. It also ordered reinstatement with full back benefits and entitlements.
Respondents include the KCBL Board chairman, the Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan, the Registrar, Cooperative Societies, GB, the Acting General Manager, KCBL and the Manager, Human Resources, KCBL.
