Pakistan conducted a successful training fire of the indigenously developed Fatah-4 cruise missile, the Inter-Services Public Relations said Thursday.
The Army Rocket Force Command conducted ground-launched cruise missile training fires to improve operational efficiency. This also helped validate technical parameters of sub-systems designed to enhance accuracy and survivability, ISPR said.
The military’s media wing said the weapon system is equipped with advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigational aids. Thus, it enables engagement of long-range targets with high precision, according to the ISPR statement.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the services chiefs commended the successful training fire, according to ISPR.

The civil and military leadership also appreciated the technical skill, dedication and commitment of the personnel involved in the F-series missile training fire.
The launch came about two weeks after the Army Rocket Force Command conducted a successful training launch of the indigenously developed Fateh-II missile system, according to ISPR.
On April 28, ISPR said the launch was witnessed by senior officers from the Strategic Plans Division, the Army Rocket Force Command, and the Pakistan Army. Scientists and engineers from strategic organisations also witnessed the launch.
A week earlier, the Pakistan Navy carried out a successful live firing of the indigenous Taimoor air-launched cruise missile. ISPR described it as an anti-ship weapon system.
