The second round of negotiations between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the government will start by 2pm today.
Government’s committee would meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif before the negotiations.
Member of the negotiation committee, Ahsan Iqbal said that both the parties have a (Joint) consensus over not being a “laughing stock”. PTI has presented 6 demands before the government which shall be reviewed within the party and we’re hopeful for the dialogues to bear positive outcome, he added.
Vice Chairman PTI Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that PTI is a democratic party and they are not negotiating upon “anybody else’s indication”.
PTI and the government have both formulated their respective teams for negotiations.
Member of the government’s team, governor Chaudhry Sarwar said that, “the government has already been in touch and both the committees shall decide what would prove to be in favour of the country”.
Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN), Ahsan Iqbal said that negotiations upon the 6 demands presented would be discussed within the party.
Previously, both the PTI and the govt. had refused to negotiate at all.
