Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, took a two-day official trip to Ankara, Turkiye. He is set to attend the inauguration of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Senior officials of the Turkish foreign ministry and Pakistan’s ambassador in Turkiye welcomed him upon arrival at Ankara Airport.
President Erdogan, who emerged victorious in the second round of elections on May 28, extended the invitation to the prime minister. Sharif is joined by a delegation that includes the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Marriyum Aurangzeb, and Tariq Fatemi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister.

As part of the visit, Prime Minister Sharif plans to engage with Turkish investors and business community members.
Sharif congratulated President Erdogan on his re-election, expressing warm greetings for Pakistan’s government and people. He emphasized the fraternal bonds between Pakistan and Turkiye and their mutual determination to deepen these ties further.
Sharif noted that the upcoming 7th Meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Islamabad is the perfect platform to advance their strategic partnership’s momentum. He acknowledged the need to realize their multifaceted relationship’s potential fully and stated that efforts are being made to that end.
In addition to his other commitments, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to meet with the Turkish business community and potential investors.
