Bishek: Pakistan and Russia signed cooperation agreements on illegal immigration, repatriation and counter-narcotics efforts at an SCO ministerial meeting in Kyrgyzstan.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi signed the agreements with Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, according to Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior.
The signing took place on the sidelines of the Special Meeting of Interior Ministers and Public Security Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Bishkek.
Naqvi also held separate meetings with interior ministers from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
In talks with Tajik Interior Minister Ramazan Rahim Zada, both sides discussed Afghanistan’s security situation.
The two ministers expressed concern over terrorist groups, camps and narcotics production in Afghanistan.
They said terrorism and drug trafficking from Afghanistan pose threats to regional peace and require closer coordination.

Naqvi and Uzbekistan’s Interior Minister, Aziz Tashpulatov, discussed cooperation between law enforcement agencies, including joint training and professional exchanges.
Pakistan and Kazakhstan agreed to strengthen cooperation against illegal immigration during Naqvi’s meeting with Kazakh Interior Minister Yergan Sadinov.
The two sides also agreed to form a joint working group between their interior ministries. Naqvi congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
He also thanked Kyrgyz authorities for hosting the SCO ministerial meeting.
