A Pakistan Customs warehouse fire broke out in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on June 13 during relocation work, but no casualties were reported, officials said.
The fire occurred at about 1600 hours at the Customs warehouse opposite the Anti-Smuggling Unit Office. The facility was being shifted to a newly constructed warehouse.
According to initial information, a vehicle used in the shifting operation caught fire after being started. The blaze later spread within the warehouse premises.
Customs staff began firefighting efforts and activated emergency response protocols. The District Administration, Police Administration and Rescue 1122 were informed and joined the operation.
Officials said about 80% of the warehouse stock had already been moved to the new facility before the fire. Most vehicles stored at the warehouse had also been relocated.
