Murree, Punjab: At least six tourists were killed and eight others injured after a passenger van caught fire in a Murree Expressway crash on Wednesday. Police said this occurred during the incident.
District Police Officer Dr Muhammad Raza said the van lost control and hit a safety barrier. Then a fuel leak triggered the fire, causing the same death toll.
Police said several passengers could not leave the vehicle immediately after the crash. The fire engulfed the van and caused multiple fatalities at the scene.

A Motorway Police spokesperson said that an investigation had been launched to determine the exact cause of the crash. Initial reports suggested overspeeding or possible brake failure as possible factors.
Dr Raza said authorities had ordered a full inquiry into the crash. This includes whether the van caught fire due to mechanical failure after hitting the roadside barrier.
