Islamabad: The opposition parties on Thursday staged walkout from the Lower House of the parliament to protest the remarks of treasury legislators.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) staged walkout on remarks of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Muhammad Talal Chaudhary. Mutahidda Quomi Movement (MQM) leader Syed Asif Hasnain ofwas perturbed over the last day’s remarks of Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif. The Jamat-e-Islami and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) also walked out from the National Assembly.
Speaking on a point of order, Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah advised the treasury legislators to avoid hurling personal remarks against opposition members or their leadership as it is against traditions and also pollute the atmosphere of the House. He said it is the responsibility of the government to avoid vitiating the atmosphere of the Lower House of the parliament.
He said that the PTI had ended the boycott of the Lower House of the parliament after striking a deal with the government. He also lauded the graciousness of the PML-N government for accommodating the PTI following their boycott and sit-in.
