NDMA weather alert warned of heavy rain, hailstorms, flash floods and landslides in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir over the next 12 to 24 hours.
The National Disaster Management Authority issued the warning through the National Emergencies Operation Centre. It said widespread rain with thunder and strong winds may hit Islamabad and Punjab districts, including Rawalpindi, Murree, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Multan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain and thunderstorms may affect Chitral, Swat, Kalam, Peshawar, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Mardan and Dera Ismail Khan. Similar conditions may hit Skardu, Hunza, Ghizer, Diamer, Astore and Shigar in Gilgit-Baltistan.

NDMA also listed Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Kotli, Poonch and Bhimber in Azad Kashmir. The authority said hailstorms could damage weak structures, vulnerable installations and standing crops.
The authority warned that rising temperatures and rain in northern mountains could trigger glacial lake outburst floods. It also warned of higher flows in rivers and streams.

NDMA identified Hunza, Nagar, Gilgit, Chilas, Astore, Shigar, Chitral, Kalam and Upper Kohistan as landslide-risk areas. It said vulnerable routes include the Karakoram Highway, Naran Road, Jaglot-Skardu Road, Shigar Valley Road, Skardu Road and Deosai Road.
The authority directed provincial and district administrations, rescue services and road agencies to stay alert. It advised citizens and tourists to check forecasts and road conditions before travelling to northern areas, and to follow updates via the Pak NDMA Disaster Alert app.
