The Multan bench of the Lahore High Court has has barred media, police and NGOs to take any statement from the family of Halima Rafiq, a woman cricketer who committed suicide last week.
Mother of the cricketer who apparently committed suicide had filed plea in the court that her family does not want to investigate or pursue any case to investigate her death maintaining that they are being pressurized for a post burial inspection and judicial inquiry of her death.
The court then ordered that the family of woman cricketer Halima Rafiq be not forced in any way to pursue the case.
It must be remembered that 17 year old Halima Rafiq took her own life 13 months after she and four other women cricketers leveled harassment allegations against top officials of Multan Cricket Council (MCC) in a TV show.
An NGO has filed a petition to pursue a case against six people including three of her team mates under anti-terrorism act.
