Under 19 female cricketer Halima Rafiq, who raised her voice against sexual harassment of young female cricketers, committed suicide earlier today.
According to the family members of Halima, she was being continuously threatened after she highlighted the issue in the media. The family asserted that the Under-19 female cricketers were being blackmailed to make certain “compromises” to join the team at Multan Cricket Ground. Halima Rafiq highlighted the voice on the media against the harassers.
Her rivals filed a defamation lawsuit and notices were issued to her. Immensely distressed under the circumstances, the young girl commit suicide . Later she was buried without an autopsy being carries out.
According to the police legal measures could be taken against the cricketer’s family for not informing the police about the suicide.

Shame on PCB and Maulvi Sultan Alam. She didn't appear before the inquiry committee for the evidence and Malvi Sultan clamed worth 20 million rupees in court which had disheartened Halima and commit suicide.

5 females cricketers Seema Javed, Hina Ghafoor, Kiran Irshad, Saba Ghafoor and Haleema Rafiq appeared on a Express news channel programme on June 7, 2013 and alleged sexual harassment against the management of Multan Cricket Club.
Afterwards PCB setup and inquiry committee, the inquiry committee set up to investigate the allegations of sexual harassment by five women cricketers against the management of Multan Cricket Club has bailed out the management of the MCC and recommended that all 5 should be banned from playing any form of cricket for six months.

The management of the Multan Cricket club had filed a class action law suit against her and demanded 20 million rupees as ‘damages’ to their reputation. It was the trauma of appearing in court and prove that they had actually harassed her… in grisly detail. The teenager was simply not able to cope.. She got scared
