Linda Noskova reached her first Wimbledon final with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Marta Kostyuk on Centre Court at the All England Club in London on Thursday.
The Czech ninth seed beat Ukrainian 12th seed Kostyuk in 79 minutes in 33C heat. She will face 10th seed Karolina Muchova in an all-Czech women’s singles final.
Muchova reached the final earlier on Thursday by beating Coco Gauff in three sets. Noskova had never gone beyond a Grand Slam quarter-final before this Wimbledon run.
Noskova said she tried to stay calm and patient before closing out the match. She added that her best tennis could compete with the world’s top players.
Kostyuk had won 21 of her previous 22 matches before the semi-final. Her only recent defeat came at the hands of Mirra Andreeva in the French Open semi-finals in June.
The first set stayed tight until Kostyuk double-faulted on set point. Noskova then broke for a 3-1 lead in the second set before Kostyuk briefly fought back.
Noskova sealed victory when Kostyuk sent a forehand long on match point. The win continued her grass-court form after her title at the Berlin Open before Wimbledon.

A Czech player will win the Wimbledon women’s title for the third time in four years after Barbora Krejcikova in 2024 and Marketa Vondrousova in 2023. The final will also mark the first Wimbledon women’s title match between players from the same country since Serena Williams beat Venus Williams in 2009.
