Novak Djokovic dismantled Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 on Centre Court on Wednesday to reach the Wimbledon third round for the 20th time.
The 39-year-old seventh seed stayed on course for a record 25th Grand Slam singles title and an eighth Wimbledon crown.
Djokovic will face French 25th seed Arthur Rinderknech on Friday for a place in the second week.
The Serbian won 88% of points behind his first serve, saved all five break points and hit 33 winners. He also made only seven unforced errors and sealed his 104th match win at Wimbledon. Djokovic has now beaten Tsitsipas in 12 straight meetings.
Tsitsipas, a former world No. 3, entered Wimbledon ranked 87th and has not reached the third round of a major since the 2024 French Open quarter-finals.
Djokovic said after the match that “age is just a number” as he continues his bid to become the oldest men’s Grand Slam singles champion in the Open era.
