Apple’s iOS 27 compatibility list includes the iPhone 11 and newer models as the company prepares to release its next major software update on Monday, September 14.
The second-generation iPhone SE and later models are also eligible. Apple announced the release date during its annual event. However, receiving iOS 27 does not guarantee access to every new feature.
Apple Intelligence features included with the update remain limited to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, along with the iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 lineups.
Users may also need several gigabytes of free storage before installing the update. You can check available space under Settings, General and iPhone Storage.

Apple may suggest removing unused apps or other files when storage runs low. Battery level and internet connectivity can also affect installation.

Apple has also warned that users may notice temporarily shorter battery life and higher device temperatures after major software updates.

The company says background tasks such as search indexing, downloading assets and updating apps can continue for several days after installation.
