As Olympic practices kick off, LeBron James and Stephen Curry, two NBA legends, are teaming up for the first time to play together on the USA team at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, which starts in a few weeks.
Despite minimal coverage, James and Curry’s partnership represents a major storyline in the 2024 Paris Olympics. This marks the first time these basketball GOATs will share a team in their illustrious careers. The USA team began its preparations on Friday.
The atmosphere lightened when Curry, chatting with former teammate Kevin Durant, saw LeBron‘s approach. LeBron’s greeting, “About time,” to which Curry replied, “Let’s have some fun with it,” highlighted their mutual anticipation.
Interestingly, this is their first collaboration at the Olympics due to previous scheduling conflicts. Curry participated in the 2010 FIBA World Championship and the 2014 FIBA World Cup, events LeBron missed. Meanwhile, LeBron competed in the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Olympics, which Curry did not attend.
Now united, LeBron and Curry join other contemporary stars like Jayson Tatum, Joel Embiid, and Devin Booker. Together, they enter as favourites to win gold, adding an exciting chapter to their careers and Olympic history.
