World Cup Day 20: France, Mexico and Norway advance in Round of 32.

EAST RUTHERFORD, United States: World Cup Day 20 saw France beat Sweden 3-0, Mexico defeat Ecuador 2-0 and Norway edge Ivory Coast 2-1 in the Round of 32.

Al Jazeera listed the three results on its FIFA World Cup 2026 page, with France, Mexico and Norway moving into the last 16.

Kylian Mbappe and Bradley Barcola scored as France beat Sweden at the New York/New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford.

Al Jazeera’s match feed said Mbappe scored twice in the win, while Michael Olise also impressed for France.

Mexico beat Ecuador 2-0 in Mexico City to reach the last 16 and end a 40-year knockout-round wait, according to Al Jazeera.

Norway advanced after a 2-1 win over the Ivory Coast at Dallas Stadium in Arlington. Erling Haaland scored his fifth goal of the tournament in Norway’s victory, Al Jazeera reported.

Norway will face Brazil in New York on Sunday, according to Al Jazeera’s tournament coverage. France will play Paraguay on July 4, while Mexico’s next opponent will be confirmed through the knockout bracket.
