The New York Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs 105-104 in Game 2 on Friday night, taking a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals.
Jalen Brunson hit the go-ahead free throw with 9.5 seconds left after Victor Wembanyama committed a late turnover. Wembanyama then missed a jumper at the buzzer as New York held on.
Karl-Anthony Towns led the Knicks with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Brunson and Mikal Bridges added 20 points each.
Wembanyama scored 29 points for San Antonio after a quiet first half. De’Aaron Fox finished with 20 points for the Spurs.
San Antonio trailed by 12 midway through the fourth quarter before a late 14-0 run. Wembanyama’s three-point play with 57 seconds left gave the Spurs a 104-102 lead.
Brunson tied the game on New York’s next possession. OG Anunoby grabbed a key rebound after Wembanyama missed a long jumper with 30 seconds left.

The Knicks became the third team to win the first two games of an NBA Finals series on the road. The 1993 Chicago Bulls and 1995 Houston Rockets also did it before winning the title.
New York has won 13 straight playoff games, the second-longest streak in NBA playoff history. The Knicks are seeking their first championship since 1973.

The series now moves to Madison Square Garden in New York. Game 3 is scheduled for Monday night.
