Sinner broke world number three Zverev in the German’s first service game and held for a 3-0 lead.
The four-time Grand Slam winner broke again and moved 5-0 ahead before Zverev registered his first hold of the opening set.
Sinner closed the first set with an ace after using a drop shot to pull Zverev forward and control the rally.
The Italian broke in the third game of the second set to take command of the final.
Zverev, a two-time Madrid Open champion, showed more resistance in the second set but could not stop Sinner’s pressure.
