Iran strikes Israel for the first time since an April ceasefire, drawing crowds onto Tehran’s streets as Iran’s military claimed its forces remained ready.
The strikes followed Israel’s attack on Beirut’s southern suburbs after alleged Hezbollah attacks.
Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central HQ, the country’s armed forces headquarters, said the operation showed Iran remained at the “highest level” of defensive and offensive readiness.
The headquarters said Israeli targets received “heavy, targeted, intelligent, and damaging strikes,” according to the semiofficial Tasnim news agency.
