Iran-Pakistan talks in Tehran turned tense after Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned against any renewed US military action, Iranian state TV reported.
Ghalibaf told Field Marshal Asim Munir that Iran would not compromise on what he called the rights of the Iranian nation and country. He said Iran’s armed forces had rebuilt capabilities during the ceasefire.
Iran, whose capital is Tehran, sits in Western Asia. Pakistan, whose capital is Islamabad, sits in South Asia.
Ghalibaf said, “military men know the value of peace,” but would not allow their country’s dignity to be trampled. He blamed Washington for launching the war while negotiations were underway.
Iranian state TV said Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a second meeting with Munir after talks on Iran’s proposals. Munir also joined a session with President Masoud Pezeshkian.

A Foreign Ministry spokesperson said gaps in the talks remain wide. The meetings came as Pakistan continued mediation efforts linked to the US-Iran ceasefire.
