Unconfirmed reports circulating on social media and regional channels claim Iran’s Defence Minister, Amir Hatami, has been killed in the opening wave of joint US-Israel airstrikes targeting Tehran and key military sites. Multiple social media accounts and regional channels have claimed that Iran’s Defence Minister may have been killed.

However, as of now, there has been no official confirmation from Iranian state media or major Western news agencies.

An Israeli security official reportedly told Channel 12 that the broader Iranian leadership was targeted in the strike. The official added that Iran was “very surprised” by the daylight operation. These statements remain part of rapidly evolving developments.

Amir Hatami Airstrike Reports Remain Unconfirmed

Several online posts described the operation as a possible “decapitation strike,” a term often used to describe attacks targeting senior leadership figures. The claims surfaced amid reports of explosions in Tehran and temporary airspace closures.

According to circulating reports, Hatami had recently issued strong warnings against Israel. Still, no verified source has confirmed his death.
