WASHINGTON: The US-Iran blockade has redirected 75 commercial vessels as of August 27, US Central Command said, up from 70 four days earlier.
CENTCOM said in a post on X that US forces had also disabled three vessels and boarded two “to ensure compliance.”
U.S. Navy E/A 18G electronic-warfare aircraft patrol the skies over the Middle East while the U.S. continues to enforce the blockade against Iran.
As of Aug. 27, CENTCOM forces have redirected 75 commercial vessels, disabled 3 and boarded 2 to ensure compliance. The United States resumed its maritime blockade of Iranian ports on July 14.
CENTCOM had reported 70 redirected vessels as of August 23. The August 27 update therefore marked five additional diversions in four days.

The latest figures form part of Washington’s continuing naval enforcement against commercial traffic linked to Iran.
US Navy E/A-18G electronic warfare aircraft were patrolling regional airspace while the blockade remained in force. No exact time for CENTCOM’s August 27 update was provided.
