Hugh Jackman said he wants to keep playing Wolverine as long as Marvel Studios allows, joking that he could continue with the Adamantium claws until age 90.
The 57-year-old actor made the comments in an interview with Project Big Screen. Jackman said he would not give advice to the next actor who plays Wolverine. He said no one advised him when he first took the role, which helped him build his own version of Logan.
Jackman first played Wolverine in the 2000 film “X-Men” after landing the role without having read the comic books.
He said he hopes the next actor will ignore the past and make the character their own. Jackman has played Logan across 10 films over 26 years.
His credits include “X2,” “X-Men: The Last Stand,” “The Wolverine,” “Logan,” “Deadpool 2” and “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
Marvel’s mutant slate is also expanding through “Avengers: Doomsday,” which is scheduled for theatrical release on December 18, 2026.
