Hezbollah reported two clashes with Israeli troops on Sunday, claiming the incidents occurred as Israeli forces attempted to infiltrate a Lebanese border village.
The group stated that its fighters detonated explosive devices at Israeli soldiers and engaged in combat near the village of Ramia, with fighting lasting about an hour.
Hezbollah also asserted that it targeted Israeli troops both in Lebanon and on the Israeli side of the border.
In related news, Lebanese state media reported that an Israeli airstrike destroyed a mosque in southern Lebanon. This attack marks the latest in Israel’s intensified bombardment campaign against the country in recent weeks. The National News Agency indicated that at around 3:45 a.m. (1245 GMT), Israeli aircraft targeted the old mosque in Kfar Tibnit, completely demolishing it.
On the same day, the Israeli military announced it intercepted about five projectiles fired from Lebanon. This interception followed air raid sirens in several northern Israel regions, including Haifa. The alerts came shortly after the Israeli army stated that Hezbollah had launched around 320 projectiles into Israel during Yom Kippur, Judaism’s holiest day, which concluded at nightfall on Saturday.
