Brown told TMZ that Chapman died Friday, but no cause of death was immediately released. PEOPLE also reported his death, citing the representative’s confirmation and family details.
Chapman’s cousin, Donte “Hammer” Harrison, said on social media that the actor died in his sleep after years of illness and dialysis, according to PEOPLE. Chapman had previously spoken publicly about kidney disease and worked as a spokesperson for the National Kidney Foundation.
