Officials briefed the delegation on the zone’s infrastructure, incentives and policy framework.

Officials said Chinese businesses also reviewed ventures linked to organic cherries, apricots and medicinal herbs. The investors examined hydropower options that could support future industrial zones.
Talks also covered tourism infrastructure, including eco-resorts and improved facilities for Chinese visitors. Officials said regional connectivity remained central to the discussions.
The commerce secretary raised export barriers faced by local traders at the Khunjerab border crossing into China’s Xinjiang region. Hashmi pledged to raise the issue with Chinese authorities on a priority basis, officials said.
They said smoother border access could support exports, expand cross-border trade and attract foreign direct investment to Gilgit-Baltistan.
