The iPhone 18 launch could begin with two Pro models and Apple’s first foldable handset in September 2026, followed by standard models in spring 2027.
Apple reportedly plans to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max during its usual fall release window. The foldable device could appear at the same event, according to MacRumors.
The standard iPhone 18 and lower-priced iPhone 18e are expected in early 2027. Reports have also linked a second-generation iPhone Air to that window, although its release remains less certain.
Apple has not announced the iPhone 18 family, confirmed the timetable or disclosed the foldable model’s name. “iPhone Fold” and “iPhone Ultra” remain unofficial names used in reports.
The Pro models could retain 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays while gaining a smaller Dynamic Island. Rumours also point to A20 Pro processors manufactured using a two-nanometre process and a variable-aperture main camera.
Those display sizes would match the current iPhone 17 Pro models, which Apple officially offers with 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screens.
Reports describe the foldable handset as a book-style device with an approximately 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch inner screen. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested limited production could delay its retail availability until the fourth quarter.

Pricing also remains unconfirmed. A Wall Street Journal estimate, based partly on TechInsights component-cost analysis, placed the iPhone 18 Pro’s possible starting price at no less than $1,299. It said $1,399 or more was likelier if Apple maintains its usual margins.
For comparison, Apple launched the iPhone 17 Pro at $1,099 in the United States. The company has not published prices or availability details for any iPhone 18 model.
