Google appears to be preparing Gemini Spark, an experimental AI agent in the Gemini app, after beta code revealed a new Agent tab and task automation tools.
9to5Google reported Thursday that the Google app beta version 17.23 introduced the “Gemini Spark” name after earlier references to “Gemini Agent” in app code.
The feature can create active and scheduled tasks, with examples including inbox cleanup, meeting briefs and customised news digests.

The beta notes say Spark can use information from connected apps, skills, chats, tasks, logged-in websites, location and other personal signals to complete tasks.
Google’s disclaimer describes Gemini Spark as experimental and says it should ask for permission before performing sensitive actions, though it may still share information or make purchases without asking, according to 9to5Google.
Early signs show Spark may support app-level and browser-related automation, but it does not yet appear to control a full computer like more advanced desktop agents.
Google has not announced a public release date for Gemini Spark, and APK Insight findings can point to features the company may change, delay or never ship.
