Google has added Gemini Live memory access in conversational mode, allowing the assistant to use details from past chats when answering new questions, according to 9to5Google.
The update means Gemini Live no longer starts from scratch in each spoken session. A Google support page cited by 9to5Google says the feature can draw on previous chats and user data linked to Google applications.
Gemini Live can now remember details such as dietary restrictions or important family dates shared in earlier sessions. The change reduces the need for users to repeat information during later conversations.
The feature is rolling out in English in the United States. Google has not announced wider availability or support for other languages.
Memory has been available in Gemini’s standard chat experience for more than a year. Gemini Live previously lacked the feature, which created a gap between typed and spoken use.
9to5Google noted that Android’s Personal Intelligence settings page still lists memory as “coming soon,” even though some users already have access. The mismatch points to a staggered rollout.

The update brings Gemini Live closer to rival voice assistants that already support memory-based responses. The broader language support and wider availability may follow if Google uses the same rollout pattern as standard Gemini memory.
