TEHRAN, Iran: Iran Europe strike options include US military assets in Bulgaria and Cyprus if Washington escalates the war, the Financial Times said Wednesday.
The report said Iranian forces had studied possible attacks in southeastern Europe. Bulgaria approved US use of Bezmer Air Base for refuelling aircraft last month.
One source also identified Cyprus as a possible target. A British military base there came under drone attack in March during the wider Middle East conflict.
Separately, Iranian forces examined possible attacks on subsea fibre-optic cables in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the FT. Such action was considered if the conflict widened.

One insider said Tehran could expand the war if President Donald Trump of the United States ordered new attacks on Iranian infrastructure. Another said Iran could place “no limits” on its response.

However, Iran has not publicly confirmed the reported strike options. Military analysts told the FT that Iranian missiles could reach parts of southern and southeastern Europe, but they questioned accuracy at longer ranges.
