FIFA World Cup 2026 will feature 48 teams in 12 groups when the tournament begins on June 11 across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
FIFA has expanded the men’s tournament from 32 to 48 teams for the first time. The top two teams from each group will advance, along with the eight best third-placed teams.
The new format will create a Round of 32 before the last 16. Each four-team group will play a round-robin schedule.
Group A includes Mexico, South Africa, South Korea and Czechia. Group B has Canada, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar and Switzerland.
Brazil, Morocco, Haiti and Scotland are in Group C. The United States, Paraguay, Australia and Turkey are in Group D.
Group E includes Germany, Curacao, the Ivory Coast and Ecuador. Group F has the Netherlands, Japan, Sweden and Tunisia.
Belgium, Egypt, Iran and New Zealand are in Group G. Spain, Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay are in Group H.

France, Senegal, Iraq and Norway are in Group I. Argentina, Algeria, Austria and Jordan are in Group J.
Portugal, DR Congo, Uzbekistan and Colombia are in Group K. England, Croatia, Ghana and Panama complete Group L. The tournament will run through July 19, when the champion will be crowned after 104 matches.
