Jhang, Punjab: Police have arrested three suspects and detained a female facilitator in the Eshal Fatima case after the 17-year-old college student died at DHQ Hospital Jhang on June 7.
Eshal, a first-year student from Sultan Colony in Satellite Town, went missing on June 4 after leaving home, according to the FIR cited in the source content. Her family later reached the hospital after receiving an anonymous call.
Police said several unidentified young men had earlier dropped a semi-conscious girl at a private hospital in Jhang and fled. She was shifted to DHQ Hospital Jhang, where doctors began emergency treatment around 11:30 a.m.
Jhang police, under DPO Sajid Hussain, arrested the main accused, Khalil-ur-Rehman, first. Investigators later arrested Muhammad Hassan and Umais, who police said had fled to Lahore and were traced through CCTV footage and digital evidence.

Police also detained a female facilitator and recovered the vehicle allegedly used in the incident from Jhang. The FIR was registered at Satellite Town Police Station under abduction-related charges, with further provisions under review as the probe continues.
A preliminary post-mortem at DHQ Hospital Jhang found no evidence of gang rape, sexual assault or physical torture, which said the report pointed instead to a possible toxic or intoxicating substance.

The final cause of death remains pending. Biological and physical samples have been sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency in Lahore, and investigators are awaiting the final forensic report.
