Karachi, Sindh: Police said Dua, a police officer and the wife of Hamza, confessed during interrogation to involvement in his alleged murder in Orangi Town.
Investigating officers said evidence from the crime scene suggested Hamza did not die by suicide. They alleged the killing was staged as a suicide to mislead investigators.
After the confession, police raided an apartment in Liaquatabad to arrest Fahad, Dua’s former husband and co-accused. Police said Fahad fled after locking the apartment.
Investigators said Fahad had allegedly threatened Hamza during an altercation outside Hamza’s residence a few days before the incident.

Police said Dua had joined the department a few years ago. She was previously married to Fahad, with whom she has three children.
According to investigators, Hamza and Fahad had once been close friends. Hamza later married Dua after a dispute between Fahad and Hamza, and tensions grew after the second marriage.
Police alleged that Dua later re-established contact with Fahad after her relationship with Hamza deteriorated. Investigators said the two then planned the killing.
The case remains under investigation, and police are seeking Fahad’s arrest for further questioning.
