CNN’s June 11 investigative report found that Jeffrey Epstein used modelling-industry contacts to reach young women after registering as a convicted sex offender.
The CNN Investigates report identified at least six people in the modelling industry who allegedly introduced or connected young women to Epstein.
CNN said unsealed Department of Justice documents showed Epstein paid a scout named Sead tens of thousands of dollars.
The outlet said it found no evidence that Epstein had an official recruiting role at a legitimate modelling agency.
Victims and critics cited by CNN said gaps in oversight allowed Epstein to keep operating around the industry despite his criminal record.
CNN investigative reporter Katie Polglase confronted the scout about his dealings with Epstein. The scout said he believed Epstein had served his time and was legally free.

He also questioned why US authorities allowed Epstein to travel and operate if he remained a danger. The scout told CNN that none of the women he introduced had returned to him with allegations of abuse.
CNN said the scout later called Epstein a “monster” after learning more about the scope of his crimes.
